Before My Surgery

  • It is your responsibility to arrange in advance for a responsible adult to drive you home and remain with you the first 24 hours after surgery. You cannot drive yourself or be left alone if you have had general anesthesia or any sedation.

  • Notify your physician before coming to the center if there is any change in your physical condition, such as cold or fever.

  • If you have not been contacted by the day 12:00 noon before your surgery, you must call the center 801-261-3141 for specific instructions.

  • If you wear contact lenses or glasses, bring a case for their safekeeping.  We provide containers for removable dentures and bridgework.

  • Adults and children are “nothing by mouth” after 12 midnight unless otherwise instructed by the staff at the Salt Lake Surgical Center
