Day of Surgery

  • Please bathe or shower prior to your surgery.  Remove all makeup and leave at least one nail free from polish.  Do not use lotions or oils or hair spray after bathing.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing such as sweat suits and easy to button shirts or blouses that are big enough to accommodate a large bandage after surgery. Wear comfortable shoes; no high heels, please.

  • Leave all valuables, including jewelry and cash, at home.  We cannot be responsible for damaged or lost property.

  • Please complete the Pre-Registration form, Pre-operative medical history form and the Current Medication List provided in the packet you received at the Doctor’s office.  Bring the forms with you to the center on the day of your procedure if you have not already mailed them to us. The medication list should include all prescription, nonprescription, herbal remedies and any medications prescribed for you after your procedure.

  • Be prepared to sign a form giving your consent for the operation.  If the patient is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the patient and sign the consent form.

  • Bring all insurance cards and a photo ID with you to the center.  Also bring any paper work and x-rays that your physician has given you.

  • Please arrive one hour before your scheduled procedure unless instructed otherwise.

  • Your family will be asked to wait in the front lobby until you return from the recovery room.  The surgeon will speak with your family immediately following surgery.  Once you return from the recovery room your family will be with you in our post-recovery area until discharge.
